    #NORDP2019 will be bigger than previous NORDP Conferences with three full days of programming! That’s more than 20 hours of extra content and presentations for RD professionals. NEW this year:

    Conference registration includes all activities (no separate pre-conference to justify), making the conference more inclusive for all attendees.

    Two-hour sessions will allow presenters and participants to discuss a topic in greater detail and engage the content more fully.

    Lightning Talks: five-minute presentations that allow individuals to share new and creative ideas for fostering research development.

    Mark your calendars! This year’s early bird rate is $640, making NORDP 2019 an affordable 3-day conference (comparable to other professional conferences). These new formats, in addition to more networking time, should make NORDP 2019 the best Research Development Conference ever!

    Call for Abstracts

    The 2019 NORDP Annual Research Development Conference Call for Abstracts is now open! In addition to standard one-hour sessions, Ideas Showcase, and roundtables, we are adding two-hour sessions and Lightning Talks. Download the Call for Abstracts.

    We encourage submissions from all NORDP members, including those new to the field and to the organization. Please consider submitting to help us build a strong program! Deadline for submissions is Sunday, November 25 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Submit your abstract here.

    Impacter webinar

    Are you supporting researchers in your university during the pre-award process when they apply for H2020 calls? And do you recognize the difficulties many researchers have when the topic of societal impact is discussed? Then this webinar about Impacter will be interesting for you!

    In an hour we will discuss the important aspects of societal impact in European grant proposals and how our software webtool helps researchers to improve their chapter on societal impact. The webinar includes plenty of room to discuss the content of the webinar.

    Paul Tuinenburg helps universities and researchers in the Netherlands with the topic of societal impact since 2012. Mainly through workshops and consultancy. Since 2016 he started Impacter to be able to support researchers and grant support specifically in the grant writing process.

    CARA 2019 Annual Conference 

    The Conference Theme: "Key to Success: Working Together to Create Efficiency in Research Administration"

    The Canadian Association pf Research Administrators (CARA) is a national voice for research Administrators in Canada. With more than 1000 members, our professional organization's strength is in its diversity and comprehensive approach to research administration. CARA provides a critical interface between all stakeholders in the management of the research enterprise.

    The WORKSHOP format is interactive and hands-on and is expected to run 3 hours. PRESENTATIONS will run 40 minutes in length

    This year's conference is held in partnership with l'Association des Administratrices et Administrateurs  de recherche Universitaire du Quebec (ADARUQ). As such, it provides an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge and learning experiences, increase your exposure, and network with other research administrators and research managers.

    Just for fun - Have a great Research Administrator Day!

    National Research Administrator Day is observed annually on September 25. This is a day to recognize the contributions made by administrators every day.

    Research Administrators and Managers serve an important role in supporting research. They assist the faculty and researchers, protect the institution or organization and assure sound stewardship of sponsored research dollars. Research Administration is found in many types of organizations around the world. It’s in higher education from liberal arts colleges to research universities, health and medical institutions, research institutions, federal and both for-profit and non-profit organizations.

    Starting with a small number of individuals in the late 1940s until present day, with thousands of acknowledged professionals worldwide, research administrators and managers provide value and expertise to the global research enterprise.

    How to observe

    Take your favorite Research Administrator or Manager to lunch to thank them for all they do. Take photos and post on social media using #ResearchAdministratorDay

    History

    National Research Administrator Day was submitted by NCURA in August of 2015. The Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed National Research Administrator Day to be observed annually on September 25.

    Annual study trip to Brussels
